Dan Murphy, Minister

Dan Murphy has served as minister in Mount Sterling since July 1993, first at Queen Street and then here at Rolling Hills. Dan is a graduate of the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions in Karns, Tennessee and International Bible College in Florence, Alabama. He came to Mount Sterling after serving as a minister in two mission locations, Buena Vista, GA and Georgetown, KY.

Dan is married to the former Cyndi Garrett. She is a graduate of Midway College and Georgetown College in Kentucky. Cyndi has been teaching children’s Bible classes for many years, and for the past 2 years has taught the ladies Bible class at Rolling Hills.

Cyndi home-schooled their children and several other children over the years. In her “spare” time Cyndi runs her own medical transcriptionist business, A Way With Words.

Dan and Cyndi have 4 children. Their daughter Julie is a first year Agriculture teacher at Harrison County High School. Their son Garrett and his wife Sheena are students at Kentucky Christian College in Grayson, KY.  Younger son Robert is a student at Windy Ridge Christian School (the home-school taught by Cyndi). He is involved in Scouts, Bible classes, and baseball.  Mariella, their youngest child, is also a student at Windy Ridge. She loves playing the piano, Bible class, and baseball.

Bettye  Garrett has served as secretary for the congregation since March 2003. She and her husband, Robert, moved to Mount Sterling after retiring in April 2000 to be near their children and grandchildren. Bettye is Dan Murphy’s mother-in-law.  She also designs and updates our websites.

Bobby Davis is a deacon and has served as the church treasurer since 20??.  He is retired so he is able to spend lots of time working for the church here. Bobby and his wife Jo have been members of the church for many years.

Jimmy has served as custodian since 2003.  He and his wife Patty have been active members of the congregation for many years. Jimmy has made 7 trips to Zambia with the Medical Missions.

Foy Ingram, better known as Junior or Jun, served as a deacon for many years. He is currently serving as the caretaker of the Rolling Hills Christian Camp.  Foy and his wife Carolyn have been with the congregation for many years.
