Dan Murphy has served as minister in Mount Sterling since July 1993, first at Queen Street and then here at Rolling Hills. Dan is a graduate of the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions in Karns, Tennessee and International Bible College in Florence, Alabama. He came to Mount Sterling after serving as a minister in two mission locations, Buena Vista, GA and Georgetown, KY.
Dan is married to the former Cyndi Garrett. She is a graduate of Midway College and Georgetown College in Kentucky. Cyndi has been teaching children’s Bible classes for many years, and for the past several years has taught the ladies Bible class at Rolling Hills. Cyndi home-schools their younger daughter and home-schooled their older kids as well as several other children over the years. In her “spare” time she runs her own medical transcriptionist business, A Way With Words.
Dan and Cyndi have 4 children. Their daughter, Julie, is an Ag teacher at Clark County High School. Their son, Garrett, is employed with Tradition Bank, and his wife, Sheena, is a teacher at Clark County Middle School. Younger son Robert is a student at Montgomery County High School. He enjoys playing football, paintball, and church youth group activities. Mariella, their youngest child, is a student at Windy Ridge Home-School. She is a member of the McNabb Middle School band where she plays the oboe. She enjoys playing the piano and other musical instruments, Facebooking with friends and Youth Group activities.

Brandon Coats began serving as a part-time Associate Minister at Rolling Hills in February 2010. Brandon and Leah came to Mt. Sterling after leaving the military where he served as an assist chaplain. He has been an associate minister and also preached full time for 5 years in Chelsea, Michigan. Brandon and Leah have two children, Eli and Emma. Brandon is also our Youth Ministry Leader.

Bettye Garrett has served as secretary for the congregation since March 2003. She and her husband, Robert, moved to Mount Sterling after retiring in April 2000 to be near their children and grandchildren. Bettye is Dan Murphy’s mother-in-law. She also designs and updates our websites. Bettye has written and published several books and tools for teaching children in Bible class. You may see her materials at thegarretthouse.org.

Bobby Davis is a deacon and has served as the church treasurer since 2000. He is retired so he is able to spend lots of time working for the church here. Bobby and his wife Jo have been members of the church for many years.

Jimmy Welch has served as custodian since 2003. He and his wife Patty have been active members of the congregation for many years. Jimmy has made 7 trips to Zambia with the Medical Missions. Jimmy was ordained as an elder at Rolling Hills in February 2008. |
Foy Ingram, better known as Junior or Jun, served as a deacon for many years. He is currently serving as the caretaker of the Rolling Hills Christian Camp. Foy and his wife Carolyn have been with the congregation for many years.
